I don't know what you guys consider cold, but today wasn't all that bad. Bottomed out around -41°F today, up from -60°F or so a few days back. Spent 40 minutes outside working, this is what I looked like when I got back to the truck: (click pic for larger size) anyone else get to play out in the sunny weather today?

LOL, yeah. Everything is melting in Edmonton so there is really slippery ice everywhere. I have no idea how the winter roads are standing up and if the rigs and the mines can haul enough gear in for the summer this year. There have been problems in the past few years with the ice bridges melting too soon.

That doesn't sound too good. They haven't even finished the main ice road up here yet, I'm patiently waiting on it since my company doesn't want to pay the whirly bird to take us out there...

Well, it will likely be OK for you. I am a lot farther south than you are.
What time of the day was the picture taken and how many hours of light do you get now?
(That faint tint of red in the sky looks good)

What time of the day was the picture taken and how many hours of light do you get now? We're up to quite a few hours of daylight a day now, in the last 17 days went up from about an hour of sun above horizon to now its around 5 hours above the horizon. That picture was taken somewhere around 4pm IIRC.

Our outdoor thermometer, which I suspect reads low, says that it is a nippy 60 (that would be a +60) outside right now, that is cold enough for me...

I don't know what you guys consider cold, but today wasn't all that bad. We've just had almost a foot of snow, so London is basically shut down. Airports closed, buses not running, tube stopped, and better hope you don't need an ambulance.

It was in the 60's earlier, and a bit warmer now. But the wind is chilly. I'm actually going to work in pants instead of shorts today and may even bring a jacket.

I heard about that from my sister, her and her husband live just outside of London. My sister having grown up in Wyoming was very amused at how fast the whole place shut down.
