My younger DD lives in Cordova AK, just over 200 miles due east from Mt. Redoubt. She works for the Alaska Dept of Fish & Game. She forwarded me an e-mail this afternoon in which the state declared a condition "orange" and indicated that increased sesmic activity had occurred in the last hour. Part of the message follows:
"To All State Employees:
As you may be aware there has been an increase in seismic activity associated with Mt. Redoubt, located near Cook Inlet southwest of Anchorage. The Alaska Volcano Observatory has, at this time, set an alert level of “Orange,” stating “Seismicity at Redoubt has increased markedly over the last 20 minutes. Clear webcam views and pilot reports indicate that the volcano has not yet erupted.”
The message was time stamped at 17:53 EST.

I just sent her a vehicle BOB as she had just purchased a used car. It and her trauma FAK have a number of N95 masks. Just hope she doesn't have to use them.
A year ago this kid was fighting off a flesh eating bacteria in Fiji. I'm beginning to think she would be safer in the military...
