A magnitude-4.6 quake isn't "very small", it isn't very big, but it isn't very small either, as I recall 4.6 is considered "light". Mag 1's and 2's could be classed as very small (micro and minor). Aren't semantics great?

It was strong enough to be felt in a parked Suburban. It felt like someone was bouncing it to test the shocks.

Having been thru a 6.4 (or 6.5, the "experts" can't agree), I am not impressed too much...

Let's just hope it serves as a gentle reminder for those up there to start preparing.

Having been thru a 6.4 (or 6.5, the "experts" can't agree), I am not impressed too much... Yeah, a magnitude 6.4 is only 63 times stronger than a magnitude 4.6 earthquake. (Don’t you love logarithmic scales?)

"Did it wake you up?" I was awake. All I could think was that if that was a forerunner of a Big One, I'm sitting on a hill created out of fill, and there are probably at least a hundred overpasses between me and home. Sue

"...I was sleeping the sleep..."
Trust me on this one; no matter how innocent you may or may not be, a 6.4 (or .5) centered 'bout 30 miles away will wake you from the soundest sleep...

After that TINY shake I was present for in Pasadena, NO THANKS.
Funniest thing. The town water supply lake where I grew up had a fine earthen dam. Someone forgot to consult the geologists before the CCC construction began. It is situated DIRECTLY atop one of the largest faults outside of the west coast.
If that thing ever lets go, the small town urban renewal will be instant.
