Thanks and no problem.

I became an EMT-A in 1978, volunteered for a little more than 1 year, and then I got married and started a family, so riding the ambulance became too difficult. During the 1st Desert Storm (1991), I learned there was a shortage of EMTs, Firefighters, etc. and decided to reactivate my EMT status. Soon after I got involved with the Fire/Rescue side of the department and ALS. I have been a volunteer Paramedic for 15 years and a Firefighter for 18 years.

Back in 1993, I did work part time for 1 year as a Firefighter/EMT for the fire company I belong to, covering the Kelly Days for the career staff.

I have to ask though... You enjoy trench rescue???? I have been near one, and it really looked like it bit the big one to me.

Love all types of technical rescue, especially trenches eek. I am also a Technical Rescue Instructor including instructing for trench rescues.

Of course I have no idea what your "real" job is, but with the economy the way it is, I think I would hang on to every possible qualification available.

I am a Microbiologist for the National Cancer Institute in Frederick, Maryland and head up the Animal Health Diagnostic Laboratory, where have been employed for 33 years.

While I would love to maintain my ALS license for potential employment, my goal is not to have to work any more and become a beach bum wink.

Now it makes more sense. I can see letting it go also.
