Does anyone know of a keychain lighter? It would be good to have a cylindrical metal lighter a bit like a pill container to go on a keychain. If not, does anyone know of a way of attaching a lighter to a keychain?
thanks

Hey, Ditchfield -

There are currently 86 keychain lighters for sale on www.ebay.com . Some of them might be less useful than others. I particularly liked the flaming spider one. <img src="images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" />

Thanks but they're not really the kind of thing i'm looking for. What would be perfect would be something like this with a lighter inside. Like zippo's keyring fuel canister but actually a lighter. I supose there is nothing like that. I'll just have to improvise.

Maybe these links can help :
Four seasons lighter
windproof lighter

The lighter from the second link will burn lighter fluid and lamp oil. When you use it with lamp oil you should keep it close to the body for easier ignition.

Thanks a lot. I saw the very same lighter as the second one in a boating shop yesterday but I thought that the flint would get bashed off if it was on my keychain. What do you think? I like the look of the first one as well but I doubt i'd be able to get it in the UK.
Thanks

I own one of the second type. The screws that hold the tube with the flint had a tendency to come lose. I fixed this with loctite. I had the keychain with the lighter in my pocket all the time and it survived without problems.

There is a way to connect a lighter to a key ring that also adds some tinder in case you dont find the lighter you are looking for.

It with instructions can be found by clicking here.

Hope this helps

I tried a simialr idea, but the rubber kept ripping over time snf the lighter falling off the key ring. Not a pleasant conclusion in a survival situation. I carry a lighter separetly in my pocket with two ranger bands wrapped around it for extra tinder.

Thanks, I'll try it. Do you know what size innertube to use?
