I am curious if anyone from the old thread may have acquired their blanket(s) yet and had a chance to give it a whirl.

Ben,

I didn't get a blanket but did order a Cascade Mountain fleece jacket and pants (just can't avoid the clearance racks) in black. The jacket is fantastic but I need to learn which layers to wear with it. I went out yesterday in the mid 20's with a Thermawool base layer, a fleece pullover and the jacket. That was one layer too much, I was soaked by the time we'd gone half a mile. The wind chill today is in the single digits so I might try that mix again. And tomorrow it might snow so I'll test the waterproofness.

Thanks, I think, for bringing that company to my attention. The folks here have cost me a lot of money! I need a 12 step stop buying gear program.

Yes, but truthfully I have not had the chance to use the blanket. Now the ball cap (I got 2), yes. I have been using it since I got it and love it. It fits well, blocks the wind and keeps my baldhead warm.

The bucket hat is a tad tight on my big head, so I gave it to my wife. She has not had the chance to wear it, as she generally does not wear a hat unless it is really cold.

With the order came their catalog and I love the look and functionality of the Viper. I wish they made it in the high visibility slime green like the Flagger Jacket, so I could wear it for rescues. I think I am going to try the Watch Hat.

Another way to spend money-
Pete

Well, glad I could do my small part to help turn the economy around.

Keep us posted on how the rest of the gear works for ya.

Those things make me laugh, the first time I saw one of the ads, I thought they were doing a Saturday Night Skit. They remind of Accession Robes for some cult, especially the red ones.

Whilst wearing a Snuggie and the tiny crystal in the palm of the hand begins to flash and then someone starts passing the Koolaid or Flavor Aid around probably isn't a good sign. whistle

Ben, I got the H2O Artillery Blanket from River West http://www.riverswest.com/hifi_fabrics.html you had recommended awhile back under the poncho liner thread. I love the blanket, it's warm and tough as nails, it's huge was the only drawback but I use it as a sleeping pad for my down bad to keep the ground transfer to a minimum. It is an awesome barrier between my bag and the ground and serves as a emergency blanket in the event my down bag gets soaked.
Thanks for the recommendation, a worthy product to say the least.

Cool,

I was hoping I wasn't gonna be the only one.
