What are the thoughts on shepards whistles? They are pretty flat compared to most survival whistles.

Links and pic's please? I haven't heard of these whistles until you posted your question. I am always looking for new gear and whistles are one of those things, like flashlights, which I can afford to try out.

The large round part goes in your mouth and you need to position your tounge correctly. It takes a little practice but they are pretty loud. They are supposed to be used to control herding dogs at a distance. I am by no means an expert so if anybody can give a better description please chime in.
