This article made me think of you. Maybe you can expand on it here a bit regarding planning and supplies. I'm still very intrigued by the nomadic life and I'm thinking of going that route down the road.

Interesting. Seems he puts more stock in "THE BIG ONE" than in coming back to the rolling home to learn it burned.

Some things he writes are similar to how we live, others are not. We have no written plan; our P/U is always loaded with our tent camping gear, food for several days, 2.5 or more gal of water. We try to keep our pantry as full as possible, keeping within the limits of space and weight. We always have the fresh water tank full, keep the holding tanks as empty as possible. We always run off of the top half of the fuel tank, not the bottom. We have several weapons with us, handguns, .22 and centerfire rifles, slug barreled shotgun with a spare 30" barrel, a decent (again keeping weight and space in mind) amount of ammo for each. Not being a big fan of the "bug out" thing, our plan is always to move out before a known threat (weather) arrives, or stay put 'til the "problem" is solved. Given our ages and med problems, bugging anywhere on foot is not an option. Or at least not 'til that is the only way to stay alive.

I forgot to add that we currently do not have a generator, but will be picking up a Honda 2000w soon. With that will come at least two five gallon jugs, always kept full...

Might be a good idea to ensure the Honda generator has the ability to be "daisy chained" to another Honda unit. I think it is a factory installed option, but very little cost at time of purchase. Comes in very handy if another load is added requiring another gen. set.

Camping World has it.

OBG, you might know this already but there is a yahoo group for the EU2000 genny's. There are instructions on how to make the stacking module for daisy chaining the generators together including where to buy all of the parts. There are also instructions on how to make extended run gas tanks so that you are running on more than a gallon.
