I just heard Doug on Tom Greshems Gun Talk and was really impressed. What commercial PSK does everyone recommend for a 4X4 that lives in Norh Dakota? We get cold winters with snow and hot summers. Thanks Bob
To be hones if you are going to buy a ready made psk for general use go with Pro survival kit master pro!-on one of doug latest reviews!
Then supplent it with - for winter
a torch-with spare batteries maybe a big mag? a sleeping bag for the temp rating-i don't live n dakota! a few candles some water a small stove and plenty of fuel a snow shovel food rations hat gloves etc
In summer
water (lots of it a peaked hat a tarp/shade of some kind salt rations food rations
a radio is a good idea to keep up with the latest weather reports. Naturally it should not use power of the the car battery. What about things to keep morale up and boredom at bay? A good survival book might suit you.
Can we assume that you have the basic 4X4 *vehicle* self help supplies? GP tool kit, pioneer gear, winch or come-along, etc? I've never been to ND but hear that it's sparse population up there. Self recovery might be your best bet in some cases.
