A game of Hide & Seek !

PS. It is in general socially unacceptable to pee one's pants, but I think this is an exception.

1) Be the guy holding the camera (some kind of help he must have been)
2) Have a slower friend
3) Carry a big gun
4) Don't lock your car when in polar bear country

Looks like it was the photographer's truck he made it into, if that tripod is any indication.

Run like hell, it seems to have worked in this case.

I am not scared of bears, rather I have a healthy respect for them but that is too close. One slip on the snow for the man while he was running around the truck, it probably would of been the last slip he would ever of taken...

And although it was nice for the photography to stand idly by and take some photos, I would of had more then a few choice words for him....

Okay, I just found a reason for Blackhawk to start making a concealment holster for this S&W .500

I have a friend who worked on the North Slope. He says that MOST folks up there have a LARGE caliber rifle in the truck - loaded, and many carry a larhe caliber handgun. I know he carried a 44 Mag with hot loads, and practiced practiced practiced until he was good with it. The rifle in his truck was 300 Win mag if I remember right

Yet the laws in many states make it illegal to do so. Handguns, only criminals carry those. And the rifle? It better not look scary ("assault rifle") or you are a criminal. And shooting a defenseless bear? PETA wouldn't be happy. Where I live in Wisconsin where we have bears, wolves, coyotes, and even the occasional mountain lion we can't even openly carry without a 'disturbing the peace' ticket headed our way.

I'm assuming the photographer was caught out also, and not near any shelter, i.e., he was even more exposed than the guy in the photos, just not (yet) the target of the bear's affections.

I think if the bear was serious that guy would have been dead.
