I stumbled across custom adhesive match striker material at the site that sells the excellent Aqua-Pouch. Looks like it might be a nice little addition for metal container PSKs and such. I'm ordering some stuff from them right now and I'll get a patch of this material to see how well it works with REI matches.

Be sure to try the stuff in hot weather. I have had less than great results with "self sticking" stuff when the temp gets into triple digits. It tends to slip away, leaving nothing but a sticky mess...

My question would be does it work with storm/lifeboat matches?

Bought some. Good stuff; cheap, too. I'll try to remember to report back after summer how it faired in my car's trunk.

Lifeboat matches have a reputaton of being hard to light. The real culprit is the lousy striker surface that quickly degrades and what must be something in the official secrets act about the reverse jabbing motion.
I personally use a big strip from a strike anywhere box with no problem. I think, once you master the peculiar jabbing motion most any striker surface will be fine.

I tested this material yesterday with the REI matches and it worked fine.
