I am going to assume that anyone here is already prepared, but someone might need to contact friends and relatives.

Looks like Iowa etc. will be getting it again.

We live along a feeder stream for the Des Plaines river. Yesterday, with our nearly complete melt off, the stream was the highest I have ever seen. I feel sorry for the folks living downstream.

I feel bad for everyone who owns camps along the Illinois River since they were flooded out this past spring and summer.

Son#2's "dad" has a shop that backs up to one of the many tributaries in Iowa that lead to the rivers. During the last major flooding, he left the front and back overhead doors open to let the water pass thru instead of damage the building even worse. All electrical/electronics were in the rafters for protection. When the water "went down" he paddled his canoe into his shop. Luckily he had a really tall toolbox, he needed something to tie the canoe to while photographing the damage. The tool box was 8 feet tall and he tied off to the top lid hinge UNDER water. They also lost two rental properties and their home.
