Yes, the laws are strict in some ways up here but they are more flexible than some countries. At least I can pull a person from a burning wreck and not be sued because of it. Apparantly that is not the case in parts of the U.S.

Getting sued because you try to save a persons life........Right on my southern brethern!

One must remember, not all states are created equally. Correspondingly, there are large differences in local laws and court decisions. You are comparing local precedent to a federal law.
