Here's an approach to redundancy...

I bought some flint rods from the Hood's Woods store. They're about the size of a strike-anywhere match.

I added one of these to each of my match safes.

That way, my "last" match has the potential to light hundreds and hundreds of fires.

The flint rods are just that -- plain rods. They're 1/8 inch thick and 2 inches long.
