I'm going to Patagonia for a month in January and besides typical climbing and trekking I have about 4 days to kill around Ushuaia area. Any recommendations on the area and other tips?

I'm around, looking at stuff al the time. I just have this weird problem with the forum where any post over two days old shows up as blank. Don't know what it is. Tried updating my IE, playing with the settings but it doesn't work. Everything was fine with my desktop but my laptop gives me a heard time.

I know nothing about going there, but I am envious of your trip. Have fun and report back.

Matt, have you thought about switching over to firefox instead of IE Explorer. I think it's a better browser and more faster and less problems. Just a thought.

Good luck on your trip, just out of curiocity, have you tried to take a fero rod into and out of china. I was wondering if you can get in and out of customs with them.

Nah never tried fero rod but why should that be a problem? I carry them air force fire startes and they were ok. I'm sure my pack had all sort of contraband at Tibetian border but all they cared for were pictures of Dali Lama and religious materials.

Just curious if they give a hard time with fero rods on the planes and through customs on Chinese aircraft.

Dang! Wish I was going with ya. Patagonia is one of the last few places in the world I still want to go.

I hear they have some excellent horse riding down there.

I second that, Matt always has some pretty cool places to go. I wish I had the time and money as well to go on some of the "my places to go before I die" list. Anyway, I always enjoy the pictures Matt takes while traveling, keep them coming. Matt's been there so much that he has local knowledge of the are plus networking connections that are always invaluable in parts of the world. My hats off to you Matt..
