The Federation of American Scientists (FAS)took issue with some of the information provided in Ready.gov and created their own preparedness site to address some of these issues: http://www.fas.org/reallyready/.

FAS brings serious intellectual capital to the table, and I suspect that readers on this forum will appreciate their no-nonsense approach.
