I spend every Saturday, regardless of the weather, training dogs outdoors. Today we worked dogs from 9AM until sunset. It was definitely chilly in Joliet today.

We always take 5th wheel and Harley and stay in Waseca as base camp. Ride all over several states and Canada from there.

Did anyone know it is illegal to cary a Kimber 1911 .45 in Canada? I sure as hell found out the hard way. Got to leave it with customs, but it was a real job getting it back!

Everyone in my house is sick and its under 20 degrees now. I'd go out but my one and almost three year old aren't suite ready for that cold.
Picked up a nice bicycle and trailer a week ago so we got to run around the block before it started snowing.

This time of year is when I get stuff ready for spring. Got my bike and the trailer for example, watching craigslist for a bike for my wife. Going to pick up helmets for all.
Pulled the vehicle bob/ghb's in and unpacked and repacked and replaced anything that needed replacement.
Have my map binder still in the house sorting through it updating maps and such.

My excuse for not being out is, it's too cold. The wind sucks.

For being here.... I could say I have no life, but there is medical evidence to the contrary. *laughs*

Desperado..Faribault and Waseca..both nice MN towns but a bit too "farm country" for me..i like the NE by lake Superior and the canoeing up there..whatever you do don't try and take a handgun into Canada..the laws on that go back to the 1800's when out friends to the North wanted to stop the wild west and it's shootouts from spreading into their country.

Yeah, I already got that one two years ago. We ride all over that area. Two years ago it was Waseca to Winona to Thunder Bay, Canada. That was where I was educated about bringing one of John Browning's finer creations across the border.

One fellow with the RCMP had a good sense of humor about it and said two things funny. 1) "Contrary to what you think sir, this is not North Minnesota" and 2) "I can just 'hold onto' that for you sir". Both were tongue-in-cheek and with a smile.

Of course at the time, I thought I was about to make my first guest appearance in a jail cell, and my wife was ready to kill me.

Spent the entire summer in a national forest dispersed camping area. Complete with coyote, bear and elk for "yard pets". Now on a high bluff overlooking a large lake. Every time we go out the door we are beginning an adventure.

The EDC gear always goes with us.

Unfortunately my chosen profession has me sitting in a boring cubicle ala "The Office", but that's not where my heart is.

I get out at least one, if not two weekends a month - usually with my son's Scout troop, but also with my family. Most summers I'll spend a week at summer camp with my son's troop, and my family will take a week-long trip (usually) to places like Kentucky, Yellowstone, and Glacier.

Our PLB was purchased when we were heading to Glacier very early in the "season", and we'd read that unexpected storms could cause issues.

Next summer we're talking about a clockwise trip around Lake Michigan using our new travel trailer.

In the meantime I get to plan & play on my own little horse property.

Nope, don't have one. Yet. I kinda worry about theft, with it being attached to a removable power cord. High dollar lose that way...
