Maybe a dozen .38 spl shotshells for the Ruger? I have had mixed results with them over the years, but with their aluminum cases they don't weigh much, and could work for getting small close critters for the pot...
Careful with close range shots with that .38 shotshell. I received a shock when I shot a target board of plywood to check the patern on my S&W M25-5 .45LC. Half of the shot tried to get back in the gun. At least I guess that was what they were doing. None made it, but sure as heck got into my skin. I was popping lead "pimples" for three days. Thank god for shooting glasses. Lack of experience + painful lesson = hard won knowledge.
