If it's in powdered form, it should make a darned nice thickening agent. I've used regular peanut butter before for that, and it takes a while to activate, but eventually it comes around.

I have a great recipe for cookies with PB and Special K cereal. It is really hard to mix by hand, thanks in part to the thickness of the PB. I may have to look for some of this stuff and try it, might be a lot easier on the old shoulder...

They sucked all the fat out. That is what makes PB such a great survival food in the first place. I'd use it as a thickener and protein source in the kitchen, but I don't see it in my pack.

On spot, ironraven.
Also, nuts and grains that have been milled lose their nutrients faster than if kept whole.

I think it's peanut butter that's had the oils removed, basically. Hmm, so without the oils, is powdered peanut butter low-fat? The Reeces Pieces factoid is interesting, considering that I love them.

Special K Cookies 1 cup sugar 1/2 cup brown sugar 1 cup Karo white syrup Bring the above to a boil, then add: 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoons vanilla While waiting for the syrup to boil, mix together: 1 1/2 cup plain peanut butter 5 cups Special K cereal Pour the syrup mixture over the PB and cereal, mix the whole mess together. Mix fast, the more it cools the harder it is to stir. Drop dollops of mix onto waxed paper, let cool. Enjoy.

Reading that, I'm thinking probably melt the PB first. And becuase I like salty stuff, maybe a quarter teaspoon of unsalt (potassium chlorate).
