Picked up a Gerber Shortcut on sale at Sportsman's warehouse this weekend, after losing my SAK classic somewhere in Florida.

I picked it because it has an excellent scissors cutter, instead of the pliers on other models, and the little tweezers on one of the swing out blades is really handy. I put this one back on my key ring, after taking the classic off due to all my flying time, which is why it got lost.

Anyways, the scissors go through thick material without the blades rolling apart, and are spring loaded so they open right back up without binding. I could cut Coax or ethernet cable with these scissors easy enough, and it seems scissors are handier for office work than my pliers. If I need pliers or more robust tool set then I whip out my Wave tool from the briefcase, but for just walking around stuff, this little unit will do me just fine, which is why I had a classic for the past 3 years.

I have had one of these for a long time; came as a set with a Paraframe folder. It is probably my favorite keychain multitool (sorry, Micra). That said, I am rather tempted to pick up the version that has tiny pliers, just to see which one gets more use...

I have a Shortcut, but use the pliers on the Clutch more, so that's what is on my keychain. They still look cool after lots of wear and tear.

The only pocket tool I've found that's been truly useful is the LM Squirt E4. The Needlenose Pliers are good, but the Wire Strippers are unique in a pocket multi-tool.

I have a shortcut and a clutch. Too be honest, they sit in a drawer - I find the squirt s4 (scissors) and p4 (pliers) are just better. The scissors, penknife, and small screwdrivers are better then the shortcut tools, and the s4 has a small tweezer.

That being said, I have an SAK classic on one keychain, and an SAK rambler (classic + btl opener/philips head) on the other and that's pretty much enough of a keychain tool for me.

By the way, the wenger esquire scissors are much better then the SAK classic scissors. Sharper, a little longer and no spring to break.
