Try White Lightning. It penetrates and dries as a film that will not trap dust. It is made for both Bike chains and knives. I use the Bike chain stuff, which seems to be a teflon based particle suspended in chloroform. It degreases then leaves a nice slippery film. Let dry and polish off the tools, just enough remains in the slipjoints to lube nicely.
Get it at a bike store or REI. I have never tried the knife version.
