Re financial stuff, we talked to people from all over the world these last three weeks, it seems that everyone else is in the same boat (no pun intended). So, if that is the case, is there really a problem???

It sounds like you had lots of fun - I'd especially like the snorkeling - but, as they say, there's no place like home.

BTW, I just got back from a business trip to Guadalajara, Mexico. Interesting place. High density of people. A wide range of wealth - from those who seem to have nothing to those who clearly have lots. Rows and rows of houses that are enclosed in 12-14 foot walls/gates toped with barbed wire and/or electric fence. Streets and public facilities that look like there there isn't enough municipal funding for repairs, though many look like they were once beautiful. Wonderful people there, but, well, there's no place like home.
