Blast,,all parts of the cock roach are edible!! Remove the legs if they might trigger your gag reflex as they're going down.

Don't forget about the large amounts of "mystery meat" that is to be found at the bottom of the refrigerator. If I remember right, our wonderful USCG cooks used to make "Mystery Meat Stew" about every 4-6 months.

On good authority, but I hear it's mainly a 'guy thing' (guys don't cover microwave dishes): scrape all the debris from the ceiling of the microwave.

Now, in a woman's kitchen... many of us answer the question "Is the pasta cooked enough?" by flinging a forkful at the wall behind the stove; if it sticks, it's done, if it falls, it's not. Pull out the stove and scrape up the remains (still needs cooking).

If you can eat cockroaches, you can probably check out all those Tupperware containers on the bottom shelf of the fridge, way in the back. Shake them a little, and if you get a response (tiny cries, scratching, etc), it has evolved to a higher life form, and can probably be killed and eaten.

That's also the "fun" part of gathering up the "Mystery Meat" from the bottom of the refrigerator compartment!!!

Side note to CANOEDOGS: Thanks for starting this thread. I did need a break!!!

Don't know why I bothered putting together a car kit. It's already filled with hidden survival rations, (aka. Mcdonalds french fries) and probably about $50 in loose change.

Speaking of scraping things off the hood... That makes me think about a re-designed car bra: Have a mesh collector on the front of the car that can collect flying insects and confused birds. It could bring a whole new meaning to 'going to get some food".

Hey Sue,

Why not have it funnel into a pot near the engine block? Then whenever you stop, you got a hot meal waiting.
