AROTC--a trailer and a sidecar would make a great bug out bike..
the price of that one was a knockout--you could buy something to fly you out for that much!!!--

grin Yeah, the price on that's a knock out. It's more then I'm thinking of spending on a bike. But its so cool. Still, I like the idea of a motorcycle and trailer to bug out with. Given broken roads, you could manhandle a motorcycle trailer pretty easily over rough ground compared to a travel trailer or RV. You'd be less comfortable, but this is for survival right? Food, water, fuel, sleeping bags and tent for several days would easily fit in a trailer this size.

I've toyed with the idea of a trailer off and on for a long time yet if I can't fit all my gear in the bed of my tank of an old truck I'm hauling too much stuff.
The motorcycle trailer is kind of morbid. That being said, if your into it most of DW's guitar cases are coffin cases. I'll attest to how tough they are. Buy one of the bigger models for a couple hundred bucks and build a little carriage with and axle and wheels for it. I bet it would stand up to it. Parts of their site aren't exactly work friendly. Nothing "dirty" but the coffin girls don't exactly wear a lot of clothing. coffin cases

There is a certain morbid irony to carrying your survival equipment in a coffin shaped trailer. Heck, there's a certain grim irony to driving a motorcycle around hauling a coffin on wheels. I'll have to look into that site when I get back to the States. Building something is always more appealing to me then buying.
