Just read a post on the Survival Forum stating an opinion on how someone would or would not want to check out of this life. That got me to thinking......I know it's dangerous,,,,,

How have I expected to check out? by gunshot before 30.

How do I want to check out? In bed while sleeping.

How do I NOT want to check out? By an accident, especially a stupid accident.

What are y'all's expectations or desires on this rather morbid subject.

By the way, I don't like Undertakers and I want to be cremated so I can keep them from getting a chunk of what I have worked my life away for!

Not sure, but I hope it happens after I turn 110 and cheerleaders are involved.

In my sleep would be just fine. What I do not want to do is cause a lot of people to put themselves in jeopardy searching for my body.

Once I am gone, cremate me. We have plans for my wife/widow to scatter a little bit of me in every state she travels thru...

How have I expected to check out? Heart attack.

How do I want to check out? I don't want to check out.

How do I NOT want to check out? Drowning or burning.

When I'm dead, just throw my body on the compost heap. That way I can give back at least a little something to the planet I have taken so much from.

Given the oppurtunity to choose, I think I'd like to live forever providing I am in reasonable health, able to ambulate, and most importantly in my right mind or at least like I am now. However, since this isn't possible yet:

How I expected to check out: Shot, stabbed, or blown up during a tactical operation. Thankfully hasn't happened YET.

How I would Like to check out: Sleeping in a hammock on a Caribbean island near the beach.

How I DO NOT want to check out: I DON'T WANT TO BURN. I've spent all my adult life fighting the Red Devil and I don't want him to win in the end.

Problem is, WE don't get to choose except in one instance and I'll assure ya I'm not gonna hurt myself.

Two evident truths that remain constant, (1) If I'm found dead and it looks like suicide, someone has cleaverly disguised a murder , and (2), check my wallet because the winning lottery is there

I don't look at death as the end so I don't fear it. I hope I go on an adventure and am never found. I don't want searchers looking for me or risking their lives in any way trying to find me. I'd prefer it if nobody was around or even knew it.

How do I want to check out? When they fire up the atom smasher at the LHC in Switzerland/France and create an artificial black hole that sucks the whole planet in, that'd be a one timer worth experiencing I reckon.

How I do not want to check out? Like the friend who stroked out in the hospital over a two and a half week period. Even the nurses and doctors couldn't take watching him go through it. I shoulda put a pillow over his face, but I was too young and stupid then.

Alternatively my cousin woke up with a headache and half an hour later he was gone. Aneurism.
