This is the cotton webbing found in oil lamps. It is also used for dogsled harness, load lashing and snowshoe bindings. I just created a hanger for my neck knife. It is far more comfortable than paracord or leather. It is also a readilly available source of tinder. I am told www.sirmailorder.ca/ sells large 68' rolls of the stuff. A catalog search online and with a mailed copy shows nothing. I am going to call this week.

For another source of lamp wicking try Wickstore.com. I ordered 25 yards of 3/4 inch flat wicking for $9.24 plus $3.85 shipping Priority Mail. I ordered it the evening of the 01/01/06 and received it on 01/05/06. Sure beats the other sources in price.
