Japanese maples are easily my favorite species of tree. Too bad they can't grow in Minnesota. They aren't hardy enough for our winters.

I can't believe this one grows where it is. It get's a couple feet of snow in winter, and then in summer 90* in the sun baking hot. Must have adapted somehow? Maybe I can sell it for a LOT since it's SUPER tough ?? I'd sure like to sell and pay for my new floor though! Hehe. From what I've heard, they are hardy down to about 0F, maybe a bit lower occasionally. In MN we regularly get well below zero, occasionally down to -30F. If you're getting that, and your trees are surviving, I think I'd like a few cuttings please!
