I like to tell people you never lose control of a vehicle. You just discover you didn't really have it in the first place. Sure, you might be able to take that curve at sixty miles an hour 99 times. But one day, you might have the unpleasantly sudden reminder that you should only be going forty. Staying on the road and being in control are two different things.
This includes being surprised by animals, ice, water and debris. You're either in control and able to correct, or you're not.
