just finished mucking around with my new spyderench. It's a great tool. About my only complaint is there's no wire cutter. I do habitually carry a gerber multiplier though so that ameliorates the problem. I went for the serrated edge blade and boy is it sharp! I cut myself about seven times in the first couple of days I had it. The slip joint pliers, or multigrips as we call them here in Australia are a brilliant idea. The construction of the handles means you can exert quite a bit of pressure when using them, which I was a bit dubious about at first. The crescent spanner is also very handy. That in combination with a Gerber means you can tackle about any job you can think of. With these two tools on my belt plus a AA Maglite and a bit set for the Gerber I feel like Batman! Another great feature is the diamond coated file which also doubles as a screwdriver. The file will keep all edges sharp in the field and is very easy and efficient to use even for those not experienced at sharpening, like myself. However, when the tool is used in screwdriver mode (or scriver as I like to say) the other bits in the tool will fall out so caution should be excercised in the field. Another observation on the spanner component is that only moderate torque can be applied, say to a stubborn nut, before the spanner wil slip. This is due to the lower jaw being a little loose. I remedied this by substituting a replacment jaw from a Sidchrome adjustable spanner that was luckily the same size. So I think Spyderco lost a couple of points with me for that. I do expect fairly fine tolerances on my tools and a shifting spanner that slips is just plain annoying. So all in all I gave it a eight out of ten. I wouldn't want to carry a Spyderench only, but in combination with my Gerber it's a dream. I can't think of anything else, any questions are welcome, I'm better at answering questions than trying to lay out information people might want to know.<br><br>

Thank you for your review. I will be looking into this. Have you tried to replace your mag- light with a photon II? I have , I find the Photon II more relyable, brighter, sounder, longer lasting and more compact.<br><br>"Audaces Fortuna Iuvat"
