New to me. Looks a lot like a Mora that someone broke, then sharpened the end...

it's a wood carving knife.the end is a chisel and you have a
blade handy if you need it..in Sweden they make knifes as tools
and not the over-the-top hunks of junk we see sold as "Rambo"
knives..

I'd sure hate to be a soldier with that nice tool :P as a last resort weapon wink

Knives have a purpose. It's up to the buyer to know which they need and buy the correct one smile

I don't see why. Isn't a tanto point just a cross between a chisel and knive tip? Looks a strong tip to me.

Just because it's similar doesn't mean it has the stabbing ease of a tanto pointed knife.

Not to mention that blade looks dinky and it would probably not last for a stabbing weapon, etc.

Like I said, each knife has a purpose that one isn't self defense wink that doesn't mean it's a bad knife for carving.

Doing woodworking as a hobby, I realized the advantages of a chisel in making traps. This is a real advantage of this knife design. For myself, I modified the large screwdriver blade on my one hand opening swiss army trekker into a chisel. This modification, along with sharpening out most of the serrations, has turned this SAK into a great field knife for me.
