I may be one of the few that has never owned a Leatherman. I've had the same Gerber Multiplier since 1992 and its never failed me. I have another Gerber that was a gift a few years back, it didn't have as many tools but had a small LED light option which has come in handy. I don't think its made anymore.

I have owned a swiss Champ since 1994 and it goes with me everywhere.

So I guess comparatively speaking, is Leatherman THE multi-tool to have or has its name just become a colloquial for the industry like Levis and Xerox?
