While researching the shelter group, I decided to go with a light weight tarp but needed a ground cover. I decided that Tyvek would fill the bill. Since Tyvek is sold in huge rolls as a home vapor barrier for contractors, I knew that I would have to find someone who sells it by the square foot. That person turned out to be Dave Goodling.
In addition to the Tyvek he also makes an alcohol stove that uses a central fuel reservoir. This is the exact design that I was planning to build. For 12 bucks, it is a real bargain considering the time required to fabricate this design.
I also found another clever device that is a pack hanger that doubles as a storage tube for survival gear.
