I've noticed a number of posts on 3-day and similar packs for carrying survival gear. Well before I discovered this forum, I decided to use 3-day packs. I've got two that I use, one from Eagle Industries and one from Tactical Tailor . Both can carry a lot of gear and there are add-on pouches available, should you have more equipment than the packs themselves can carry.

I gather some list members may not want to draw attention to themselves or their gear by carrying OD or woodland camoflauge packs. Tactical Tailor offers their packs in OD, Black, Woodland, Tan, and Blue. Eagle offers their packs in OD, Black, and Woodland. Blackhawk Industries offers their 3-day pack in OD, Black, Woodland, and Tan. Another great gear company, London Bridge Trading, offers their 3-day Pack in Black, OD, Desert Tan, Woodland, 3-color Desert, Navy Blue, Royal Blue, Forest Green, and Burgundy, with the last four colors being special orders.

I'm sure that there are some other companies, I just can't think of them right now. Hope this information is of use. . .

For me, when you say three day pack, I think of a pack with about 3500-4000 cu. in. capacity - a size that is about the most versatile pack available. There are lots and lots of very functional models available that look "alpine/outdoors" rather than "tactical."

For various reasons, I've had tactical packs. Having perceived no need for a non-tactical pack for the PSKs, I went with them, both of which are in the 2100 to 2400 c.i. range. It is a matter of preference which type of pack one prefers. . . .

The Kelty Redwing (in 2400 cubic inch and/or 2900 cubic inch sizes) is a great pack with lots of features as well.
