I just happened to be browsing the howstuffworks.com website looking for more randomly useless tid bits of information to stash in my noggin and noticed that they have a whole sub site dedicated to adventure and within that a 'channel' dedicated to survival. Some of the topics are more than basic for us but I like the way they present information with an informal and sometimes humorous twist.
I once suggested on the Discovery Channel website that they make a series about how stuff works. Not How It's Made (which they already have), but how it works.
