Doesn't the USCG regularly sail through the Drake Passage, which the USN has deemed the most unnavigable body of water on the face of the planet? (I've been there, done that, and I'd do it again in a heartbeat, as it's the fastest way to lose weight I know of. I could stand to take off a few pounds...
