I personally have never used the tampons as bandage, but a friend of mine swears on it. I was thinking of using it for tinder, which i read somewhere about it. but i personally prefer using alcohol swabs and "cottonball & vaseline" (always works !!!)

finding dry wood is usually not an issue here. there is always plenty of it around my area.a folder is usually sufficient. carrying a bigger knife would be a problem here as the law here is pretty tight. carrying a folder or even a SAK would have someone questioned/interrogated by the police.

i have previously added about 3-4 ft of duct tape, but was surprised to find them "melted". the weather here in malaysia is about 32-36 celcius. the heat probably have melted them.

I have about 5ft of nylon string always tucked in my cargo pants.
