It's a battery powered by liquids and with a long shelf-life. According to what I hear you can "refill" it up to four times! Don't laugh, it's called the NoPoPo Now only in Japan but soon in Europe and probably North-America.
Saying that these batteries get "power from water" is like saying that a adding water to a dehydrated Moutain House meal produces "nutrition from water".

I bought a can of dehydrated water the other day. I think I got ripped off. Instructions say to add a can of water to the contents.
