The only starter rope I ever had to replace was on an old lawn mower that I used as a "professional" lawnmower when I was in high school. I mowed lawns every day after school, and on weekends. Went thru a lot of starter ropes. It was kinda tricky replacing the rope, a spring clip, four little ball bearings that had to fit into their little slots while you stuck a gizmo down on a shaft in the middle of them. Not all that hard once you learned the trick, but the first time was intersting...
