I saw a similer mistake made by a person shooting strong-hand only while holding a flashlight in the weak hand. The problem was that he overlapped his weak wrist on top of the strong one, behind the slide. Made 2 nasty cuts on his left wrist, he never dropped the pistol or the flashlight though.

We remember the lessons, we learn the hard way.

The apex of Glocks was achieved with the 17, and the 19 is close behind.

I am not a big fan of the .40 cal Glocks. Google glock kaboom and you will see why.

The .45 was perfected by JMB and you need look no farther than 1911 if you want a pistol so chambered.

I owned a Glock 22 (before the gvt changed the laws and I had to give up all my handguns except the Colt 1911).

My wife also had a Glock 26 for a time.

I think they are fantastic weapons. Very easy to carry (most important!). I found my 22 easy to shoot with reloads (not full power).

If I had to choose one now though for carry, i would go either 19 or 26. I think the 9mm Glocks offer the best ergonomics and the gun was originally designed for this caliber. I have heard of .40 caliber Glocks blowing up if shot regularly on full power loads due to the unsupported chamber.

I believe the 17 is still the ultimate Glock but the 19 is definitely easier to conceal. Unless you are in the habit of wearing long jackets wherever you go.

The 26 is a wonderful little pistol though and very pleasant to carry. If you plan to carry all the time and you live in a warm climate I would recommend the 26 without hesitation.

Bottom line: Glocks are great!

My second handgun was, and still is, a Glock 21C full frame compensated .45 ACP. I chose it because Glocks are simple (I can completely dis-assemble and reassemble with no formal training), utterly reliable, and needs almost no upkeep. The pistol is more accurate than I am (center mass is no problem with it), will eat anything, and has only jammed for me when I intentionally limp-wristed it to see if I could cause a misfire. Although it is fine out of the box I did add a plug for the grip, a captured steel recoil rod and spring, and a 3.5 lb. trigger bar. It may not have the history of a 1911 but it had all of the features I look for in a handgun, my only other handgun at the moment is a Makarov which shares many of the same traits.

Even though the .45 ACP is only slightly larger than the 9MM it has considerably more stopping power, personally I'll take slow and fat over small and fast when dealing with a handgun. Just adding my $0.02.
