CA has some beautiful spots too, but they have become not worth the cost of living here...

We have Texas plates on our truck and RV. We belong to a consumer side RV group called Escapees, headquartered in Livingston TX. They provide our mail forwarding and our domicile address. We are technically Texas residents. But we seldom go to Texas.

When asked "what part of Texas you all from?", we reply, "A small county in the northeast part of the state called Maine."

I lived in Houston for a couple of years when I was very young. I've lived in the Tulsa, OK area ever since.

We thought about doing the Takesass thing, but after talking to others decided on SD...

I was born and raised (24 yrs) in South Texas, went to A&M and and lived in Houston for a year or so. My folks still live in Kingwood, so we visit sometimes. Been gone for 13 years now. Sometimes I miss it, but Missouri isn't too bad. One day I'll go back if I get the chance.

Now that I have acclimated to colder winters though, I can't take the high temps like I could back when I lived down south. Houston in the summer would probably kill me if I had to be outside the A/C for long.
