Go down to the local hardware store and get you a simple flat bar. Sizes range from 6' to 36" and up for industrial versions.

While it is tempting to get a small one any prying and the ability to use it for prying, digging or scraping with two hands is going to take something long enough to grip properly and lean into.

The desire to have something light and compact conflicts with capability. Something in the range of 12" to 16" is a good compromise for carrying use. I have a 21" one in my rescue duffel. Weighs about a pound. It gives a lot of leverage for prying. I tried it for digging and found I could make good headway. It was more effective than the shovel in packed sharp gravel and hard clay.

The kicker is that the 21" model was only about $14. The tool mentioned close to $90. I don't think I paid $90 for all the hand tools in my rescue kit.
