I like the adventure medical kit series simply because the bag is so convenient. I would also add a SAM split and Sawyer extractor to any kit you buy (put the pieces from the Sawyer in the kit and throw away the case.)

You may want to add a small book or flash cards... just because you know how to use the stuff doesn't mean your buddy does (and he my be aiding you!!)

I also replace all cheap bandaids with high quality waterproof types. Dont forget to add any perscription meds you may need (do you have anyone alergic to bee stings?)
