I recently fixed our tire pumps by splicing on new cigarette lighter pieces. My CyberTool 34 couldn't handle it. Either that or I don't know where its wire stripper is.

I wound up using my Spyderco Cricket to slice the plastic covering the wire, and the pliers on my CyberTool to then peel the covering off.

I needed two tools to do the job. Is there a SAK or Leatherman-type tool with a decent wire stripper?

If you have the Victorinox Cyber Tool, I believe it has a wire stripper included. I think it is the little notch on the side of the tool that functions as a bottle cap lifter and large flat screw driver. You would close this tool down on a piece of wire so that the wire is pinched into the notch against the knife handle. Yank the wire out and leave the insulation behind. Twisting the wire around may help score the insulation first.

I have never actually stripped any wire with that style of wire stripper, so this is all theoretical for me. On the other hand, a basic pocket knife blade has served to whittle off wire insulation for me and many others with little fuss. Good luck.
