I know from experience that such a lantern can get pretty warm, but cooking? I have my doubts. Heat water warm enough for some luke warm cocoa maybe. Re the tubes, if they are thicker walled that the really thinwalled stuff you see from time to time, they could come in handy... _________________________ OBG

Especially since it mentions storing items that are "valuable merchandise".
