I'm personally a big fan of MREs...

I am currently enjoying the Sopakco brand. What brands of civilian MREs do most people here like? I'm curious.

I gave the Minestrone ones that I had to my father-in-law and he loved them!

Im pretty sure that I get the real thing. This is because the surplus store that I frequent is about 2 miles from Camp Pendleton, as the crow flies. They are yummy though!

First Strike Rations

Sort of an on the run stripped down MRE with extra quick and easy on the run things to eat - sandwhiches etc. I think one is supposed to be good for a whole day, but I'm not sure.

That is correct... One FSR is good for a day. It takes the place of 3 MREs. I believe they say for the first 72 hours of the mission, then they try to get them MREs...

Energy bars / drinks, sandwhiches, beef jerkey, caffinated gum. All in all, pretty cool...

I really hope that they make them available. Not likely, but who knows.
