I have a distant link to this show, a friend of a coworker of mine is a camera person on Mantracker. I understand that the race is run for real, but after its over many of the on-camera scences are staged after-the-fact. This is to make for exciting TV and to not hinder the racers too much.

I am getting this info 3rd hand, but it sounds believeable?
