I don't watch a lot of t.v. as I can't usually sit still that long. I started watching this mantracker a few weeks ago and became very interested.

So interested in fact, that a friend and I will be filling out application forms to try and get a spot on the show.(assuming we get the time off of work)

Any other fellow Canuk on this forum interested? I don't know if the topic came up before but it would be really cool to go and show this old b*****d who's boss.

It would be an honor to do this with you my friend. I love that show and often wonder how well I'd do against the old guy.

Ironically I know a lot of people who know the guy because he's a very experienced SAR mantracker.

I mentioned this loosely to some friends of mine this morning and there seems to be a consensus that this show is faked. All speculation mind you but I wonder if showing up on it would hurt our credibility?

They made some good points...like how can you NOT follow 2 people in the bush when they're being followed by a camera crew?

I have a distant link to this show, a friend of a coworker of mine is a camera person on Mantracker. I understand that the race is run for real, but after its over many of the on-camera scences are staged after-the-fact. This is to make for exciting TV and to not hinder the racers too much.

I am getting this info 3rd hand, but it sounds believeable?

I think most of these shows are faked. Remember the one where the guy steals a horse in the middle of the night - all saddled up and ready to go?

I havn't seen that show, it sounds interesting, but there is another show like that hear, but it is one man, who is the host who is being tracked by a group of people, the host has to complete a mission thing and then get extracted. its pretty good...he films it himself iirc
