I just watched the History Channel's MEGA DISASTER show. Today, San Francisco and a repeat of the 1906 earthquake occurring again was featured.

I took note that all of the "experts" agreed that it would be a week (7 days) before survivors could expect outside help in the way of food and water. The "experts" calculated that 98% of San Francisco's population is unprepared for a significant earthquake from either the San Andreas or the Hayward Faults.

I recall the mini quakes every night rocking our beds on government (now Coast Guard) Island while I was at Boot Camp there. San Francisco is no place for a Louisiana boy!
