Thank you for stimulating the discussion Blast. I feel better that many of the posts have revealed a healthy skepticism of GW as portrayed in the popular media. This mania will be studied in the future for it's insights into human psychology. The ability of the proponents of GW to delegitamize contrary views and to try to shut off debate is a cultural phenomenon that troubles me. Regardless of the subject we must feel free to openly debate these issues. The injection of emotions in this particlar debate says more about the new religion of environmentalism and the void it fills in peoples lives than the truth of the science. Don't worry that ethanol production results in a huge net carbon release from land that will take 400 years to reverse while at the same time threatening to starve people as long as you can feel better about yourself when you go to bed. We must guard against the triumph of emotions over inellect. Science free of politics is what I seek.
