I'm a neebie in the UK, this forum looks like an excellent resource. I've already got introuble for spending too long going through the archives!

I am considering buying a second hand ACR electronics MiniB2-ILS epirb for use in the event of ditching in a light aircraft. I've seen the posts about battery conversions for the SDU 5/E Strobe, does anyone know of something similar for the MiniB2-ILS (the MiniB300 has a user replaceable battery, the B2-ILS doesnt). Obviously I'd like to change the battery since I won't know if the beacon has been used before with absolute certainty.

Getting the battery changed by a service centre would cost upto £50 which would make buying it second hand pointless.
